Hi Guys, just finished a X-mas gift for my Son in law.
A hunter with a traditional and modern twist.
The Hunter is all steel ( 01) with brass pins with leather wrap handle...
and the sheath, leather lace and a few hits on the buffing wheel to add the aging look.
Cheers and Merry Christmas to all! Stay safe!

Well that question is answered, was contemplating a leather wrapped handle myself.
With the brass inserts in the blade are they press fit or soldered? Was looking at something similar and using a low temperature solder to secure copper wire and tubes.

Transmission fluid being red will stain and waterproof leather, had a sheath soaked at one time and it is now 35 years old and going strong.

So many questions forgot to say nice knife:)

Hi John, Thank you , for the brass insert, I just used epoxy, and pressed. what I have learned about this is to use a thinner piece of leather to do the wrap, it would of shaped better.

Cool shape man. I like the way you put the brass pins in the tang and then reveal them with a hole in the bolster. And the tubes in the blade, however, I have a thing for knives and hygiene and it may be fun cleaning blood out of the nooks and crannies. Never-the-less an interesting use of materials and geometry.

Thanks Dan, yeah I wouldn't do this type of stuff on a skinner or any other knife that would be in contact with some sort of food source, The son in law is more of a camper, outdoors type. More like a utility nice, or show off to his buddy knife.
