Hey Guys, so tried my hands at carving a face for the first time, thank god for youtube U So was reading up on a old legend for the 15th century where in Europe it was believed that all trees where inhabited by a spirit, that would protect nature and its environment, seeing a spirit would grant you safe passage and happiness on your journey. Traveler would carve faces on their walking stick in order to draw out these spirits. And so I decided cool, let try this....and so here is it Stick is maple the wrap is a boot lace for now until I replace it with leather. Stained and varnished.

You've got talent Peter. I started woodcarving about two years ago. I've been working on faces etc. the entire time and I don't think I can do them as good as you can. Really cool looking.
