Been busy in my shop with a couple co-workers wanting hunting knives for this fall.. one friend wants two, and made out of cpm154 (belt killers ) this one is 1084 Anyway here is the first one that's made it to the handle stage. Did something new for me and did all the shaping of the handle off the knife, getting it as close as possible before gluing it to the knife. This was nice not having the blade in the way. Once I was happy with the fit and feel I glued it up and not I'm in the progress of sanding to 800 or so. This is a G-10 spacer and scale, should I buff it once done? and would need a handle only buffing wheel no?, as the one that has seen metal would just turn this black I'm guessing
nice hunting knife parker! the handles turned out great for pre sanding. might have to give that a try one day.
Thanks Dan! I really want to try some cool wood handles but everyone I know that ordered a knife loves this blaze orange and toxic green G-10 so I've got 6 more knives to make with the same set up haha but I still love it myself too
Thanks again Dan. I also send with a vial of mineral oil so they can maintain the blade with no excuse haha
Thank you! Ya I love it. Now I have 6 more to do with this combo. The customer for this one is colour blind so he can't tell greens apart and lost a knife last hunt season. This should help haha
