Just finished for a knife maker client of mine who's customer wanted a custom sheath for his new bird knife with a turkey theme. Hand carved turkey tracks...

    8-9 oz (1/8", 3 mm) thick leather.
    1/2" wide welt.
Medium brown dye with neatsfoot oil treatment to give it a "new" worn look.
Turkey feet a inverted carved and dyed black with a really small brush.
Edges sanded then polished and sealed with gum tragacanth and beeswax.
Finished with super sheen and then my own beeswax/oil blend leather balm to condition and water resist.
Hand stitched with 1.2 mm black braided poly thread.

Nice sheath Eric. So, you could say you were "talking turkey" then? (groan, i don't know what's gotten into me today)

    To much stuffing?

Beautiful sheath. Really like the finished edge.

Feeling really good about not making it the "Turkey Trot" sheath.

Nice sheath. I do the same finish with my sheaths and like the look.
