Here's a few just finished. Top one is 1080 and 15N20 damascus with desert ironwood scales. Second on is CPM-154 with black paper Micarta scales. Bottom on is also CPM-154 with coloured maple burl scales. All of them have 416 SS bolsters. Six inches in length with a blade 2 3/4 inches. Picture is little over-exposed. Sorry. Photography is obviously NOT my forte. Jim T
Jim! What the heck have you been hiding from us! Good work man. Really like Damascus the and ironwood one. Dan
Wicked. I like the bolsters. They are longer than the normal look to me. But it's a neat touch. I agree with Dan, that ironwood is a beauty. What kind of sheath is going to accompany these gems?
Thanks guys. They were fun to make. Forging the Damascus was a blast! Wish I had my own set up for doing more. Fortunately, I have a generous friend who mentored me through the process in his shop. Sheaths? I have to make sheaths??? Actually, I've been procrastinating on that part. My leatherwork isn't the greatest, but stay tuned, I'll get to them eventually. Knives are easier to sell when they're in a sheath. Jim T
I LIKE THEM ........ GOOD LOOKING KNIVES JIM You sure disappeared quickly at the Calgary show I never really had a chance to talk to you.
Thanks Cal. I was actualy at the Calgary Gun Show for a goo d chunk of the day. I came back to chat with you, but you were surrounded by people (prospective customers, I hope). I don't think you saw me. Then I had to hightail it back to Wetaskiwin for Easter with my family. You had a great display there, Cal, and it was a real treat to see your knives up close and personal.Your fit and finish are beautiful and the damascus you make is exquisite! Jim T
I have to ask about the CPM-154 with colored maple burl scales. Is there a line of purple running thru it? Because that really sets the knife off!
It's actually more of a pinkish-red, Hyde. Like I said, I'm not the best photographer, so colour accuracy probably isn't great. The maple was dyed before it wasmsent in for stabilizing. Looks nicer in your hand than it does in the photo. Thanks for looking at any rate. Jim T
