Test blade

    So this is just a little tester. Tried to see if my little forge will hit welding temp. Looks like it did. Couple of weld flaws. But it survived the heat treat, which was done after this pic. Steel is two types of bandsaw blade. One from a wood mill and metal cutting bandsaw. Just 10 layers. But as I said just a test. ...... Will likely turn into a little guy for myself. Won't be going anywhere with the weld flaws but I image it will work just find for me. Merry Christmas everyone. [​IMG]

    And as a nice bonus, it looks like one has a high nickel content so it will make for a nice contrast.

    my forge thermostat just showed up so I'm anxious to see what kinda temps I can reach !

    I think I'm going to get one if those. It might help keep the heat treats more accurate. Plus I'd like to see how hot the little forge actually gets.
