Well something like that, hole design started as one thing that led to another then four different sizes. Have to give three thumbs up to the guys who make swords. The whole shaping a 10" cutting edge is one pile of effort, think little 6" blades will be a walk in the park now
A couple of things I did find last night while trying to straighten the grind line 1) 500 grit belt was on top of the 150 belt, lots of grinding but nothing happened but so focused on the grind line it took a few minutes to notice. 2) platen is tilted by a 1/2 millimeter, really shows up on the long blade combined with a holder. Free hand you may never notice it but I am trying to chase a millimeter accuracy or less. Either going to rebuild everything or give up on this grinder and buy new. Old used and assembled from assorted parts can be frustrating. The blade is sitting right now while I build a leather working bench and decide on putting on a fuller or not, would lighten the front end some and get a better balance.
