Hi everybody, last week I was doing a HT on a knife I am working on when suddenly the power went out. I had my blade in the kiln and I was just about at temp when it happened. I just let the blade cool off slowly in the kiln. I had my blade double wrapped with stainless foil like I always do. I'm wondering if I can just fire up the kiln and heat treat in that pouch even though it has been heated already. I haven't opened the pouch or even touched it. What do you think?

    Thanks

I'm sorry I only use carbon steel (no need for foil really) so I can't help. But I'm curious about what kind of steel you're talking about.

I went ahead and did the ht the way it was. I was worrying for nothing, it turned out great.

I have reused foil once in a pinch. As long as it stays sealed it's okay.
