I have been working on a KMG clone as a masters project in curriculum development..... actually the university isn't really interested in the hands on work, the research on motivation and engagement is what they are interested in. Anyway, I couldn't do all this work and not have a physical project to show for it, so I went ahead and designed and built a belt grinder for my students to build. I have made the prototype version with the step pulley and a 2hp 1800 rpm single phase motor with 4" dia drive wheel. I have a Bee grinder in the school shop which I don't think is any better at all! In fact there are some features of the shop made version that I like better. I have plans for the whole grinder including turning step pulleys, drive wheel etc.... How the heck do I attach photos?

Did you turn your own wheels?

    Hey...that's the grinder. I will try again.[IMG]
H'mmm somehow I don't have the settings correct for image to insert. Yes, everything has been made in house, drive wheels, tracking wheel, platen wheel, bored Grizzly 10" for bearings, even turned the 3 step pulley.[IMG]
