Sami Style Knife For A Friend

    I made this knife for a good friend of mine and I hope he will still use it on his next deer this season...

    Blade is hand forged by Belgium maker Alessio Salssi. Steel 115W8, zone hardened.
    Handle - birch burl and reindeer antler. Sheath - reindeer antler and vegetable tanned leather.
    Sami style carving on the antler parts.

    As always, criticism and comments are welcome and much appreciated. ))

    Impossible to criticize Roman. Once again a fine example of stellar craftsmanship. That M. C. Escher thing going down the sheath is mind blowing.

    WOW! ...whats goin on with the Caribou antler at the ricasso..is it always dark like that in the center?

    Internal part of deer antler is always porous and dark. Some have less pores, some more. This antler is not bad at all, most of the antler have much more pores. I normally fill the pores with cyanoacrilate and sand it down to 2000 grit.
