This is a knife that I made for a lady. Her husband says she like black and she is a Philadelphia Flyers fan. It's a 6-1/2" AEB-L petty with ebony and the most red wood I had...padauk. Go Flyers. Ya right! I am done this one. Two more to go. Dan
Another beautiful piece, Dan. Gotta say, I love the way you smoothly blend the blade right into the ricasso and into the handle. No sign of a plunge line. Really looks good! Jim T
Thanks Jim. I don't know if this is the right way to do it, but discovered by trial and error that swinging the tang end up near the end of the pass will miss the neck. This will make a smooth transition if one controls the pressure so that there is a little more on the heel. After grinding across the blade until the edge is about 0.015", I do some careful passes lengthwise without too much force in the neck area to blend better. Merry Christmas, Dan
