I don't know why I did it but I looked to see if there were any surface grinders for sale on kijiji and there was. Asking $500. It actually looks pretty good. I wish I didn't look. Anyone know what my options are for hooking it up in my garage. I have230v but only single phase. Motor is a 1hp 230v 3 phase.
I don't really know, but it could be as easy as replacing the motor -- assuming it's just a simple on/off switch, rather than variable speed.
At that price its probably gone by now , cheap like borsch !!!!! GOOD THING IT WASNT IN BC , WIFE WOULD OF SHOT ME !!
Well I just noticed a while ago that the grinder does not have a table. Oh well. At least I don't have to suck up for the next couple weeks to the home boss. I asked my work boss what they go for at auction and he said about 1000 for a pretty good one. He also said i can use the machines at work whenever i want. A few years ago I saw one at an auction down the street from work. I couldn't stay so I had the milwright that I work with see if he can go bid for me. He asked what my limit was so I said $250. I didn't get it but he called his buddy to see what it went for. If I was able to bit for myself it probably would have been mine. It sold for $280. That was a bummer.
