Trying a couple blades with o1 for the first time, so many opinions on quench oil on the internet ..............and i'm open for more , any input is welcome thanks Rob
I'v e used O1 almost exclusively since I started this madness. I've always used good ol' canola oil at 120-140 degrees.
There's no real need for crazy oils with O1 basically any oil will do. I use canola for all my steels and have never had a problem. The only problem I have is the soak time at critical. It gets a little tricky in a coal forge
Soak time should be no problem for Rob and his new Paragon oven. (Okay, my jealousy is showing a little  ) Here's a question, when you use an oven, how easy is it to get the blades from the oven to the quench?
That's a beauty, Rob; both the knife and the photo. Your mark looks really good. Do you have different sizes of stencils for smaller blades or just the one?
