    Hi,
In the past years I always have no problem buying O1 steel (at knifemaker.ca, in particular).
Since a little while there is no more O1 on the market, as far as I know. I've looked at kbs tools, metalsupermarket (have some in drill rod but no flat material) njsb... no one seems to have some in stock.
No information available to know if it will come back someday at this point.

Does someone know what happened with O1 steel, if production has been stopped for some reason, or else ?

If you have some input or answers, thank you for sharing.

Hey Fred, I was at a metalsupermarket in Winnipeg MB, a couple weeks ago and they had some .125" bar stock of o1 in stock!

    Ok, thank you !
I have looked at their ''buy online'' website section and cannot find anything else than drill rod... maybe it's better to call them directly.

Metal Supermarket in Markham Ontario also has it, I think if you go to your local store it will be there, my location has from 1/16" up to 3/8" thickness and from 3/4" wide up to 6" wide!

Happy hunting, hope things work out for you.

Thank you Griff. I have wrote for a quote to the Ottawa store this morning... searching for 3/32 '' flat stock, (mostly for folders).
I will wait for their answer.

I found these guys just before Christmas. The gent I was e-mailing said that they are changing names but they are still under this website.

    http://issl.bc.ca/products/

When I sent him an e-mail he got back to me pretty darn quick.

Looks like Admiral Steel has lots of O1.

I have found Metal Supermarkets Online Quoting to be hit or miss. They seem to be disconnected from what is physically in stock in the location nearest you.

Ok, thank you SDMay and Rick.
For issl I think I will try to find a source more close to my location (Quebec), I'm a little afraid of shipping rates from BC.
Rick : I didn't know that Admiral was dealing with particulars or small businesses... I will take a look at it.

I'm pretty new to this, so I could be mistaken about what you're looking for but I was recently looking at some 01 steel on Amazon.ca that was prime eligible (yay free shipping on metal!)

My local Metal Supermarket has O1 in a special bin at the front of the store. 36" lengths, various thicknesses. Probably a good idea to call first.

Thank you PatRoy, didn't know this shop. But they don't have the thickness I want (3/32).
Metal Supermarket have answered to my quote request, they have it in stock in Ottawa, not so far. But shipping rates are quite expensive (more than my orders coming from Alberta...).
