Name is Joe, I'm just here to watch and learn mostly.
After a long spell of lurking I finally got around to making a profile as I try to kick start my hobbies into a small business eventually. I have put down roots near Bon Accord in rural Sturgeon County, AB.

I've got 30+ years military experience and am working on taking my foot off the gas a little and transitioning to amateur bladesmith and bespoke outdoors equipment craftsman. Currently working in high carbon, tool steel, and leathercraft. This love of making knives comes from a weekend intro to forging Damascus course ran many years ago by Ed Storch from Manville, AB.

I also love recreational and competitive marksmanship, hunting, 4x4ing/ATVs, camping, hiking, fishing, canoeing, bushcraft, and pretty much any outdoors activity. My aim is to make knives and tools that support these kinds of hobbies and lifestyles.

    Cheers,
    Joe

Hey Joe, (there's a song in there somewhere)

Although you've been here for a while, welcome to the forum. Ed's a great guy. He's had an influence on so many of us from around Alberta.
I certainly look forward to seeing what kind of mischief your varied interests get you into. ;)
