Covid started many projects and knives were one of them that stuck. I'm working on stock removal right now but scored a small anvil and have a make shift forge for heat treating, so I hope to make a little building and start making some noise and scale. Right now I am trying to learn bevels free hand and having mixed results. Just working on a small bowie for my daughter out of an old farrier rasp.
Welcome to the forum William! Has anyone heard of Maritime Knife Supply just starting up? They are expected to be online around the end of the month. Supplying steel and abrasives and what not. I am following them on Instagram and have invited them here as well. I see they just brought in 1300 lbs of high carbon steel from Aldo. Sounds exciting. Dan
@dancom that’s good news! I was just belt shopping from a supplier out west and when I place my measly 12 belts in the cart to calculate shipping, well it was more than the cost of the belts! I’ll check this Maritime Knife Supply place out. Cheers!
Welcome to the forum William. All the best as you get rolling in the hobby. There’s a ton of great info on the forum and a great group of experienced knife makers that are always willing to help. Cheers.
