Have mercy on me guys. This is my first 1084 blade. Jonliss and I did a heat treat session in mid-August and below are the results. Unfortunately the hamon that I tried for didn't work out and a warp appeared out of no-where, but I battled back with an hour of grinding and made something with some mustard and Louisiana hot sauce. The scales are maple burl from my friend in New Brunswick. The pins are black Micarta and a Frank Jacob's mosaic from CKML. I did the final edge with the buffing wheel and black compound which took away the etch and added some "worn in" character. Really fun knife to make. I am normally stainless, but I love careful staining something like this. Dan
I like it a lot. It has that look of something well used. Great job. You'll be a carbon steel junkie in no time.
