I managed to pick up a etching machine and have designed my makers mark, The Grindstone at Blue Lightning hooked me up with stencils! first few attempts
Looking good. How is Ernie doing? One thing I like to do after neutralizing the electrolyte and wiping clean, I scrub gently with a blue 3M Scotch-brite pad. (Supposed to be a no scratch pad.) It softens the black edges a tiny bit and give the etch a worn in look, but not ancient worn in if you know what I mean. Dan
I was wondering if that was ok.. I was going to try it, this one I use 1000 grit then re buffed.. turned out ok. question though, the big knife only after wiping it with some thinner then oiling, over night it tarnished the steel from the sail water, is the a solution I could use to stop this in the future... looked online but found little
Ok that's what I'll do. I thought about it but was not sure if it was just after acid etching only. Thanks dan
Thanks guys. My wife came up with the name and I designed the logo. My daughters name is brooklyn and everything I love is hunting and fishing so brookside kinda worked out great
