I'm trying to finish up any projects that I have going on before I start on any new knives. One of those projects is cleaning and organizing garage....one of these days. Anyways this blade has been heat treated for almost a year. The original plan was to make it a sub hilt but many different ideas went thru my mind. I finally committed to the sub hilt. The blade is O-1 with ebony scales, stainless gaurds and pins with 1 mosaic pin. The blade is 4.65" long and 9.0" oal. I still have some buffing to do and put my mark on it so I will post some better pics when I totally finish it is. Let me know what you guys think.

Very nice Icho! Great job on the symmetry as well overall this is very appealing to the eye! Also great job on the double edge.

Thanks Steve. I actually enjoyed making this one a lot and there were many firsts on it for me. I'm looking forward to doing another one but the next will be larger.

Very nice Icho. I think the mosaic rivet was the perfect finishing touch to an already very nice knife.

Looks great man! Do you have any progress pictures? I'd love to see how you put the guards on.

    Thanks guys.

It is my first time using a mosaic pin. I still have enough for about 2 more pins but I will be getting more the next time I order supplies but nest time I will pay more attention to the rotation of the pin. The Square in the middle is not perfectly aligned.

Ya it is based off the Big Bear but it is quite a bit smaller.

I don't have any pics at all of this one. I thought I had some of the heat treated blank but I can't find them. I have a pin in each guard and they are also soldered. The next time I do a guard like this I will take some pics. I already have a design planned but I have to clean and organize around here before I cut any more steel...I guess we will see how that works out.lol
