This isnt the very first, but the first with handles and pins. Its in 1/4" 01 with SS 1\4" tubes. The wood is angelique from the refitted Blue Nose. A friend of mine use to fish with the guys that milled all the lumber.

Great job on your first knife. It's a handful. I love the history of the handle -- that alone makes it a keeper. If you're like most of us, you'll pull that out of a drawer in a few years and wonder what you were thinking (or drinking). But that first finished knife is important. You'll likely spend a lot of time playing with it and studying it. It will become your template for improvement.
Looks good for a first knife. I've always said you learn more on your first knife than you do on the next ten. After ten, your in it for life. LOL
Thanks guys, yeah I've been using it to baton threw some damp kindling., I left some a little too big to start the wood stove. I know its not everyones type but I like it. Its surprisingly useful, the tanto make pretty good feather sticks, I can keep my wrist straight and get some of my weight behind it. I have 6 more heat treated , 2 almost ready for handles and 4 that need to be tempered. All of them different patterns. I'll post some WIP pics when I get them done.
