Anyone played with making mokume gane?

I have some copper and brass that I would like to experiment with.
Can I use borax as the flux on copper & brass?

    Thanks,

    Dan

I am pretty sure Cal has done some so hopefully he will be along to give his input.

Yes, you can use borax. Add distilled water to make a paste and brush it on the edges of your stack.

Anyone ever used this site? I seen a billet of this that a fellow maker in town had. Looks very cool! The prices seem good, but are subject to our dollar and shipping costs. But, in the future, I'd consider trying them if people have any reviews. Thanks
