    Hi all,

Wondering if there are any suppliers located in the Toronto/GTA area that I can visit and chose out stock. I have no problems with buying online, but wouldn't mind something I can visit and purchase.

Metal Supermarkets has O1 tool steel available in knife thicknesses by 3 feet long. Depending on the location, they may not have a ton sitting in stock, but they can get what you want in a few days. I'm not sure what's available for other steel as I'm just a noob and I'm starting out with O1.

    Cheers.
    Gary.

KBC tools also has O-1. I believe they are on Dixie rd. There may be others in the GTA so you can check out their website.

If you make it as far north as Barrie you can try Barrie Welding. They get all sorts of metals and usually will cut to size. Also Metal Supermarkets can also order some things for you.

I got excited about that until I examined their product lines. Nothing of use except for fittings.

They will order D2 and 440C but it comes at a premium. Worked out the cost per cubic inch and Canadian Knife Maker Supply is cheaper.
