HI Guys, well seeing that it was march break and that the grand kids where off school this week, being the grand parents that my wife and I are we had the grandkids over for a few days. The million dollar question was how to entertain them? well naturally there is the PS4! That always work for a few hours...Then what?
Well the oldest boy is 7 and just loves to see what PaPa dose in the workshop, so he hanged around watching me do some file work, we then decided to look on the web for more designs...well he did...kept him busy for hours, searching and printing patterns...( had to go to staples to get more paper). My oldest grandkid is 11 going on 20..lol she is very artistic and loves to craft, and is also very intrigued buy what I do, I asked here if she would like to try here hands at leather work. She smiled and said surreeee, whit a teen bored look in her face, we searched for designs and got her set up and she spent close to a full day working away on this art. She was so proud of what she made and so was I, that I told her that I would share it with my friends on the forum. So here is it guys. Hope you like it! ( setting up the next generation!)

That is pretty freaking awesome Pete! She should be very proud of her work... You should also be proud of being the right kind of grandpa! I love these kind of stories...:)

Thanks you! I am very fortunate to have beautiful and loving grandkids like them. They put a smile on my face every time! They have a special way of taking away the crabby old man syndrome! :D

Agree with everyone, she did awesome work, (better then what my Mrs can do shhhhh). I had my nephews out for a couple days and the oldest is 13 going on 20 as well. He thought it was easy to make a blade and forge (big evil grin). So I fired up the forge and set him up.

Needless to say, he has a new respect for the art as I let him pound away at his own blade. Took him all day to do it but he got it done. Forged himself a nice little table knife out of a piece of rebar. To my surprise he loved it and his brothers even got involved (8, 3). Of course the just helped ol'poppa bear swing the hammers and made some divits in the got rebar but they really surprised me with how they loved doing it.

My oldest nephew wants to come out to the ol'work shop and make another.

So Peter you don't have to be a grandparent, us "young guys" (Lol) enjoy teaching too.

No pics though... he didn't want it up although I am very proud of what he made.

I'm just shocked that he didn't bother with the games himself.
