Hey folks! Happy to have found this forum. I've been making knives for about a year and a half now. I run a small business and the knives are slowly becoming part of it. I've tried to attach a few pictures of my work. Let's see if it worked...

Nice to have you. Looking forward to your posts. Wow. Amazing work. I haven't actually finished a "real" knife yet, i'm that new (and don't have time lately it seems). I really love the first pic a lot. That is a really sweet knife. THe neck knives (?) at the bottom are awesome too. Sort of Japanese inspired looks like (kiradashi i think they call it?). Anyway, very cool stuff. I wish i could say i will be able to help you out a lot but, sadly, it looks like i'll be learning much more from you than the reverse. I am beginning to feel like a total newb.
Hey don't forget to check out the other threads. The "what you do in real life" thread is interesting. Nice to get to know people a bit.
I'm gonna go before i start to sound like a total keener. Take care!

Also, what's the deal with all the knife makers in Manitoba and Alberta? We had 3 new people join yesterday and two of them were from Manitoba. Is there no decent cable packages in the prairies? No Xbox Gold memberships? Must be a prairie work ethic thing : )

Hi Marc. I hope you don't mind, i found your website. (i know, i'm a snoop, i work on computers all day it's like looking something up in the phonebook for me). Dude, that is impressive stuff. Those rings are beeyootiful. Knives too. All of it. You guys are all giving me a complex. I need to quit the library game and get out in the shop full time. (good plan right?)

Haha man I enjoyed reading all of those messages.Happy you found the site. Yeah I'm in the shop full time, but about 70% of that time is spent making rings which, while its a pretty sweet job, still isn't knife making. Do what you gotta do to keep your passions afloat. If its working in a library then all the better. At least you're surrounded by books. Always thought that would be an interesting job.

Yeah I had an etching stencil made. Unfortunately I cant remember where lol. I had them done about a year ago and they have lasted a very long time. There are a few places that do them. I found the recommendations on bladeforums I think. It was around $35 for 5 stencils. If you buy from them a second time its cheaper because they already have the artwork saved.

    Anyway thanks for the welcome!

Really nice looking pieces, Marc! Welcome to the forum! What part of Manitoba are you from? I was born and raised in Winnipeg, but moved out to Alberta to go to school. I now consider myself an Albertan now, even though I still root for the Jets and the Bombers whenever they go up against Calgary or Edmonton! ;)

    Hi Jim,

I'm Winnipeg born and raised myself. Glad to hear the Manitoba blood is still running strong in you haha.

I'm be moving to southern Manitoba in just over a month to a property. Plan to set up a full forge to continue the craft out away from the city.

How can I see some of your work?

    Regards,

    Marc

Welcome to the forum Marc. Very nice knives. The handles on those filleting knives are awesome. That last little one really caught my eye, very interresting design, I had never seen one like that before. Very nice!

Hey thanks! Yeah I've done a few filleting knives now. I am trying to keep the handles distinct as the form of the filleting knife is somewhat limiting. Gotta try and stand out somehow.
