So I decided to make a leather cuff....not really for anyone in particular but more to challenge myself and trying new techniques in tooling. I really don't know what to call it but the Franken cuff. critiques and comments are very much welcome. also at the moment I still have a few ideas that I want to try still ...like raising the barbwire spikes...and then the painting. I would appreciate help on that part....all I got right now is dye....( black, blue, brown and burgundy) Cheers
look up embossing leather but in short you use different sized clay modelling tools with the little balls on then and push the leather from the back. This raises the skull for example giving a 3D effect, then you fill with a leather paste (ground up leather ) .
that's the stuff basically anything to keep the formed area from getting compressed flat. Even leather cutout the shape you want can be glued to the back of the leather to help form the shape. When doing this you can apply contact cement, case the leather for forming and as you push a part down it bonds to the preshaped leather making progress a little faster
