Had an idea for making a secondary locking feature on a Kydex sheath and this is the start, a little rough but going with it since it may more than likely get wrecked. Other features will be fast drain sheath and removable secondary color panels. Also belt clips are removable so easily replaced or swapped out for a different type if and when the owner wants. The G10 insert along the cutting edge is to stop any inadvertent wear or premature dulling of the knife. May be over thinking that problem but it is there now only half way through construction but got impatient for picture time.
Note to self: thin leather gloves are not suitable for hand forming Kydex. Luckily sink was nearby and hands and sheath got dunked pretty quickly and now I have rosy red fingers That square corner is going to send me over the edge I think. Noticed that the way the bolster is shaped that when pushing the knife into the sheath it snaps twice then stops forcing the spine up against the sheath interior which keeps the cutting edge clear of the G10 spacer. For these kinds of projects it would be a really good idea to make a drill plate so the holes are all evenly spaced for future upgrades or modifications.
