I am looking for knifemakers in Central Vancouver island from say Naniamo to Campbell river. Would like to meet people who enjoy the craft and want to talk shop. I also travel down to Victoria fairly frequently and wouldn't mind meeting some like minded people there as well.

Hey. I'm John and I just moved to Nanaimo a few months ago from Van. I'm a chef by trade, but I've always been stoked on the idea of blacksmithing. I've started making knives in my basement and am slowly gathering equipment to be more effective at it. I'd love to meet up and hang with someone who's been doing this for a while, as I have just everything to learn. Internet is great, but meeting and working with someone would be so much better. I live in Courtenay but I wouldnt call myself a knifemaker just yet. Just got my first two pieces of steel in the mail today. Im fasinated by the craft and have done a bunch of research and itching to get in there and start messing around.
