I may get kicked out over this, but that is all right. My version of the 2013 KITH is here. I have taken artistic licence to the max. 7 3/8" over all flat ground, differential heat treat, 1084 steel, brass guard, dyed stabilized maple burl handle. If I'm too far from the original intent you can take my name off the list. My wife would claim this one in a heart beat. Brad
I should also apologize for not doing any WIP shots. I had 3/4 of my pictures and my camera card crapped out. Describing the events just dose not cut it.
Thats a beauty of a knife Brad. Even if its not a true full scandi, i would not worry, some of the others, mine included have drifted also. The temper line or hamon shows very nicely on that blade, and the handle is some very nice wood also. Im sure any of the other makers would be proud to own that knife.
Great job, Brad. I can definitely see some scandi influence in the lines, if not the grind. I think every knife in the KITH shows an interpretation of the scandi concept. It would have been a lot less fun if we all just made a traditional puukko.
I had a nice surprise waiting for me after work today! Great job Brad! The fit and finish are both excellent. I really like the maple it looks awesome! What's the secret to getting such a nice guard fit? It's practically invisible! I do however have one problem with the knife... There's no makers mark. A knife this nice should have your name on it man!!! If you don't mind I'm going to make a sheath for it so u can test it out this hunting season. Thank you Brad!
Whoops! Spelling error! I can't seem to be able to edit the last post anymore. I meant to say "so I can test it out"
I'm glad it made the trip. I always worry shipping stuff. Hopefully it serves you well and your pleased with it Tapered tang and a big hammer, nothing to it (Well sort of).
I'm always worried about shipping my knives too. I sent three to BC in January and it seemed to take a long time for them to arrive. Thanks for the guard tip! I never thought of tapering the tang. I'm very pleased with it. I think it's beautiful Brad. Thank you.
