K B Electronics Vfd In Canada

Hi Guys,

A friend in Ontario is looking for a KBAC-27D drive. Lots of places stateside selling them. Anyone know if there is a supplier in Canada or if you brought one up where did you source it? @John Noon didn't you get one from a local shop in Winnipeg?

Ya he's in Thunder Bay. So far he was quoted by RG Speed and it was around CAD$100 more than bringing it up from the US.

 

That's about the same as I got . That's why I got mine from the US.

 

I am just waiting on a price from Kbac hope to have it tomorrow, I will advise when I get it

I thought I would update. The best deal I could find appears to be the Amazon route. The order is shown in USD and includes shipping and import fees deposit (GST).

This one is for me. If you are in an HST province you will have higher import fees as there is no provincial sales tax in Alberta. With current exchange rate it's going to land on my doorstep for around $500 Canadian. If one wanted it sooner, then of course the freight goes up.


$500 is still crazy for a VFD, but buying an industrial open chassis IP20 VFD, then buying an enclosure and fans and terminals and so on will be close to the same amount in the end; never mind the time it takes to put all that together.

Other US supplier options explored had similar USD unit cost, $355 to $357, but had significantly higher costs for freight/import charges and tax was COD. Note this was through Motor & Control Solutions on Amazon.com not Amazon.ca.

RGSpeed quoted CAD $511 B2B ($588 B2C) + HST + domestic freight.

i just bought the kbac 24d and the kbac 27d for my sayber OSG i have just finished (thank you Dan)

from a local firm in Lethbridge Alberta called Southern Rewind they are just local though they fitted the reversing switch i think it was about c$ 460 for the 24 and a little over C$ 500 for the 27 hope this helps
