Hello All! My name is Ed Caffrey, ABS Mastersmith. I just happened to stumble upon these forums a couple of days ago while taking a break in the shop. I figured since I spend some time in Alberta with my good friend Jim Clow, as well as a bunch of other great makers, and since Montana in sort of "southern Alberta" anyway, I'd join up! I might know some folks around here....but may not recognize the screen name(s).....so if we've run into each other anywhere along the way, drop me a note and let me know! My shop is located in Great Fall, Montana....just a couple of hours from the Border. I'm a retired US Air Force Master Sargent, and have been a full time Bladesmith/Knifemaker since 2003. My "career" in knifemaking has spanned over 25 years. I guess what keeps me so interested in Bladesmithing/Knifemaking is that ever day that I walk into the shop......I learn something new, and always have a new challenge.
Hey good to see you on here with us crazy Canuks. I'm sure your input will be a benefit to all of us Brad
Welcome to the forums. We have a great bunch of folks here who are always willing to help another maker. Even though we're still a small forum we have a good mix of skilled craftsmen and not-so-skilled beginners (like me). I hope you enjoy your time here.
Hi Ed! Nice to see you on this forum! Looking forward to catching up with you at Jim Clow's southern Alberta Hammer-In next month! Jim T
Hey Ed, really glad to see you on the forum! I am sure that we'll all benefit from your presence here. Cheers, Chad
