Well, it's been awhile now(Nearly 2 years), and my wife was nice enough to let me spend the last $150 in the bank for a small grinder!! Got a little 1x30 from Princess Auto for now, and I'm working on getting a 2x72 built. I banged out 2 blanks the other day, and did up a some of the work on the handle on my bushcraft knife here! http://imgur.com/uULg0dS
I have a knack for this stuff! My micarta turned out amazing, and so has my first knife. I am going to get out to the shed in the next few days with my son and we're gonna build a helium tank forge to hold us over until we can build our oven! Hoping to finally get the knife orders done up to the friends of mine in the US in the coming month or 2 also!

Awesome!, I have to replace all of my stuff since the ice storm. Gurage was broken into and my grinders where stolen as well as my brazing torch, forge, car, list goes on. All the insurance is covering is the car.

Ouch! Sorry to hear, man. How come nothing else is being covered by insurance? Because of a stupid clause? Act of God or something dumb like that?

Ya act of God and even though the stuff was stolen they are saying they won't cover it from enadiquit (sp sorry) security. Doesn't matter that it's from a tree falling on the shop.

What a crap deal! It makes me wonder why we bother getting insurance anyway. My uncle fought for nearly 5 years to get the money after his house burned down. 2 appeals I believe it was, maybe more... They said he started the fire because there was gasoline on the basement steps. Considering he did all the work on his snowblower and lawn care machines down there, it's no wonder there was gasoline on the carpet! Only insurance I've ever had to deal with was Employment Insurance and disability insurance. And both sucked for the 2 years I had to submit form after form to finally get my money! Craziness!

Here is blade 2 and 3! It didn't take me very long to get these ones done either. Haven't done the forge yet, but I will get to it this week when it's a bit warmer out!!

Getting there! The top one needs a bit more work, the bottom is ready for heat treat. Both these little knives are for my 12 and 13 year olds. They both chose the blade style, and one wanted a glass breaker on his! haha

Right on Kevin. Proof you don't need expensive tools to make knives.
