It's Baaaaaaack!

It’s awards show season. We have the SAGs, the Oscar nomination, the Canadian Screen Awards, the Golden Globes. Best of all, we have the 2nd Annual Canadian Knifemaker Awards.

Our categories:

The categories for 2016 are:

Best Sheath
You may nominate any member who has, in your opinion, created what you consider the best or most innovative sheath (for a knife, sword, tool, etc.) over the past year.

Best Shop Tool
You may nominate any member who has, in your opinion, developed the best or most innovative tool, jig, tool modification, etc. in the past year.

Best Build
You may nominate any member who has, in your opinion, posted the best, most interesting, or most useful tutorial, build-along, or Work in progress thread on the forum in the past year.

Best Knife
You may nominate any member who has, in your opinion, made the best or most interesting knife in the past year.

Best New Maker
You may nominate a member who is new to knifemaking and who has, in your opinion, shown the most improvement over the past year.

CKM Maker of the Year
You may nominate any member who has, in your opinion, demonstrated the best qualities of Canadian Knifemaker. It may be someone who has shown the most improvement as a maker over the year as a result of being a member, or a member who has been the most helpful to others here.

Who Qualifies?
Any current member of the forum is eligible for nomination.

How Do I Nominate Someone?
Ton nominate someone, add a post to the appropriate award thread below. Put the nominee's user name in the title (e.g.: You might say "Mythtaken for Most benevolent dick-tater"). In the body of your post, tell us why you're nominating that member. Provide links to relevant threads or posts.(This is an ingenious way of gathering lots on internal links to older threads and posts that some may have missed. And Google likes them too.)

If someone has already been nominated for a category, you don't have to add another nomination, but feel free to post your support for them with your own thoughts (Who doesn't like to hear good things about their work?).

What Happens Next?
Nominations will remain open until Feb 15th. At that time, voting will commence through a poll posted in this section.

As always, the award winners will receive nothing but our fawning admiration and a nifty user tag. (Some day I really have to get some shirts or mugs made....)
