Hi everyone, i just had a question about getting some heat treating done. I have been doing my own 1084 and having good results, however i just ordered some stainless and will not be able to HT it on my own due to not having a kiln. The steels i have ordered are 154CM, and CPM154. I know they are similar and wanted to see the difference performance wise for myself. My question is, as the title says, is there anyone in Sask who works these steels and would do some contract heat treating, or someone who does heat treating that you could direct me to? Thanks in advance guys.
Rob at Canadian knife making supply offers heat treating, he is highly recommended. He is in Alberta though
Rob is who i get my steel from, and is who i plan to use unless someone is closer. I have no doubt in his ability or his turnaround time at all, i was just hoping for someone closer. Basically its an issue with Canada Post being rediculously slow and all the other issues i have had. Damaged items, missing items, tracking saying that item is at my post office but taking days to sort it and put the card in my mailbox so i can pick it up, a new passport that came so soaked in mud and water that it had to be replaced. a two piece fishing rod that showed up as a three piece rod. Basically i was hoping for Someone relatively close who i could ship to easily by purolator or one of the other carriers i have not had any problems with.
