I had a friend recently ask for "something special" and "just make it and i will pay whatever". Sounds great right? What I came up with was my take on an Irish Skean / Dirk. I knew he was Irish heritage , and i thought this could maybe be a nice heirloom or at the very least a conversation piece.

1095 blade at 8.5" long. Gun blued fittings, curly maple handle and a brass threaded pommel nut. Coming up to completion on this blade, i found out there was actually a budget in mind (i did ok on the sale, but i should have made more certainly) but he was an army buddy of mine, so i dont mind at all. I blew the whole budget on the knife itself, and just kind of threw together a sheath which i will not share lol.

    Anyways , here it is:

Hey that looks really good. Nice antique quality and great fit-up on the guard.

Thanks. Guard fit up is always the most challenging part for me.

A dirk is definitely on my to-do list, and it’ll be my take on one much like this is yours!
