Olive wood bird's eye burl courtesy of Winners cutting board!
It turned out very nice . There's going to be a lot of knifemakers shopping at winners with there wife's from now on lol.
I like the shape a lot Dan, and olive is so nice to touch and hold! The double pin at the very front of the handle throws off my eye slightly I think but that is just personal and very minor. I would work with that bad boy all day long!
Ya the front small pins were originally for a bolster. I omitted the bolster and it left more space than I wanted in front, so I added the two small pins.
Warning. This olive wood is extremely hard! I burned it quite a bit on the grinder. I had to hand sand the burnt marks out.
The wood must be like G10, use a worn belt and you are going to smoke it.
I did a similar holes than changed plans and went with hidden pins to hide the shame surprised it came out half decent in the end. Of course I will now spend some time wondering if they will hold
