Hi my name is Erik , I'm in the US and for the past few weeks I've picked up an interest for handcrafted knives I've been watching YouTube videos and there're a few ones that don't require lots of tools which I believe are good to get my feet wet. Is there a thread that discuss the basic tools and material to get started ? Well just wanted to introduce myself really looking forward to see what you guys make.
Welcome to the forum and to this OCD we call knife making. Here's a thread that talks about some basic tools for getting started. This one talks about some good books for beginners. We also have a basic primer on heat treating. You should also checkout our thread on shop safety. Hope that helps get you started. Whenever you have questions, ask away.
