Hello, just introducing myself. I just started trying to make knives, very basic but very enjoyable. I would like to step up my knife making skills.  I'm looking for someone that teaches how to make knives, someone in the Saskatchewan area. I'm looking forward from hearing from someone.

    Thanks

Hi bobgravis, welcome to Sask Knifemakers and your new addiction. Once you start making knives, you just can't stop.

Among our members we have a full range of knowledge and experience, from beginners to those with over 20 years of knifemaking. Someone here can speak to any question or problem you might have. Some of our members do offer training for beginning makers as well.

Do you have a particular area of interest -- fixed blades or folders, forging or stock removal?

Hi there, I'm mostly interested in fixed blades and stock removal at this time. But I like to get in to forging and as my skills get better, I like to try folders.

A good place to start improving your skills is to get some feedback on what you've done.

Over in the Projects forum under Knifemaking you can post some pictures of a knife or two that you've made, or something you're working on now. It's a good place to get some feedback and some ideas on how to improve your work.
