Good afternoon, I have been at this knife thing for a few months and want to send my blades out to get heat treated professionally. I live near brantford and cambridge. Is anyone aware of places that I can get my blades HT near my area? I typically have 10 or so to do as I want to save them all up and get them treated all at once.\ Thank you in advance.
I'm a newbie as well but all I have ever been able to find in Canada is the folks at knifemaker.ca who are in Alberta. Someone else will probably chime in with info on whether or not there is anyone in Ontario.
What type of steel? something like 1084 can be done yourself with a torch or forge and get acceptable results. Pretty sure someone in that area has a furnace as well and could help out
Allied heat treat is in Ontario I use them many years ago and they did a good job on 440c .Today I would sent them to Rod at canadainknife maker if I only a few to do . Shipping is pretty much the same no matter were you send them.
