Hi Guys, well I was going true my knife pictures and forgot about this one.
When I first started this hole venture, I talked to a lot of friends about what I was doing or should I say trying to do, because we learn every day new things. One day my nephew called me and asked...or challenged me to see if I could make a sword, but in his request he was very specific. it had to be a period correct roman Pompeii Gladius sword. He is a big fan of the series Spartacus. while sending his challenge he had a little smirk that kinda bugged me, so naturally I accepted. having no clue what I was getting in to. did the research and decided that even if it would have a cutting edge it would not be suitable for battle since at that time I had no means of heat treating. so anyways moving forward, a trip to Lowes and princess auto to get a piece of rolled steel and new cutting wheels for the angle grinder I went to work. the project took me about a month to complete. needless to say, nephew was happy and to this day its displayed in his room.
    Hope you guys like it.
For those with a keen eye you will notice that the hand guard is missing the traditional steel plate.
its missing for a reason....not to give him any idea about using this thing in combat;)
    cheers

Somewhere a young lad is as happy as any kid could be with a few jealous friends I imagine
