    Happy new year everyone!

I got an order for a double edged coffin handled dagger. I was nervous to try the double edge grind at first but after a few minutes it felt pretty natural.

This is just rough ground with 36 grit. I have to fine tune it with files and sand paper but I'm happy with the way it turned out.

    Thanks for the advice SteveBates!

Lol...I told you buddy, that looks excellent, nice and symmetrical and can't see a thing wrong with it. Great work metal, can't wait to see what you do with it!!!

Thanks Steve, I'm thinking some black canvas micarta or linin micarta for the scales and some 1/8" stainless pins. I'm debating on doing a hamon, what do you think?

That will look sweet....I don't think it maters much which way you decide to go with it, I'm sure it will be a thing of beauty ;) I've been thinking of a Damascus knife with a mirror finish edge, I always thought that would look cool given the right design.

Very nice grinds man. Those balances swept plunges look great too. Can't wait for an update on the progress.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I kind of screwed up one side last night... Gotta figure out a way to fix it but I'm sure I'll find a way lol.

I decided to go with bocote scales after seeing it on another knife a friend made.

    Here it is so far.

I finished this little dagger up last week. It's going to its new home very soon. I think it turned out pretty good but I am not happy with the straight grain on the bocote.

Thanks guys, it was an interesting build that's for sure.

Steve, he is putting it in a show case and doesn't want a sheath.
