Quick question. I'm trying my first linen micarta handle. Just wondering if you do anything to it besides sand? It looks pretty good sanded to 1500 but is there anything else you do or should I be sanding it more (or less)? Any oil etc? Can't imagine what it would do for it but curious.
    Thanks

I buff it with white compound on a soft wheel.

I do as Kevin suggested. Get it hand sanded to nice smooth finish and carefully buff away with white and soft wheel.

Clean wheel! Nothing worse than getting black smegma in your pristine handle. The black will never come out.

Dan lemon oil or WD 40 will usually get it out.

Here it is hand sanded to 1500. I don't have a buffer so that's gonna have to wait.
I like it. This was the backup for my KITH blade. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it. The blue was acrylic pen turning blank that I wasn't sure about using as a bolster or pommel.

Looks great Grahamm! I've never tried finishing to 1500. The blue acrylic on black looks "right"...
