    OAL 8 3/8 inches, 210mm
Feather steel 1080 /15N20 forged by maker
Stainless fittings and black fiber spacers
Handle material is from South Africa, a piece my friend brought me. I have no idea what it is other than it is real oily.

That turned out very well. Holding your tongue just right again! I like the way the handle is broken up with the thin bands of SS/spacer.
At first I thought the handle was really fat, then with the last two photos I see it's slim.
The wood looks like African Blackwood. It is very hard, oily and has a peculiar sweet smell when working it.

Never have, I imagine it would be a pain the butt, especially if the splitter got welded into the steel.

At first the splitter was to sharp , better results with a dull blunt edge , a press one day soon

Very nice! I also think the handle is African black wood.
