So this project is for a guy who's finally going to be retiring. His colleagues got together and decided this is going part of the parting gift. As he's of Scottish ancestry we thought we would go with something a touch longer than a sgain dubh and shorter than a dirk so here's what we came up with. Steel is O1, fittings copper, and the wood is stabalized curly maple. Blade is 6", handle around 5 1/2". Wanted a slightly aged feel to it so I played around with a heat treat patina on the copper. Oh and I hate 5 minute epoxy. I really need to find some longer setting stuff. Anyhow here's a few pics. The wood is lighter than pictured in the last shot. Sheath to follow.
Thanks guys. It's going to get a simple leather sheath. Similar to the last one I did I think. The colour should go well with it. I haven't attempted wooden sheaths yet.
