Here is my latest project. Two identical blades made for a customer with initials...now, funny part is..correction, not the funny part. I etched the wrong initials..He wanted "SIM" and "DF" you can clearly see i forgot to read the order sheet to double check and assumed it was DJ. Key word 'Assumed" (clearly only made an Ass out of me) good news..the J could be turned into an F bad news..I don't own the etching system, it was a fellow knife maker in town who i feel I have intruded enough on his workspace. Other options I came up with.. 1. buff it out, re etch, and re dip in ferric chloride 2. free hand engrave over the initials (at first he wanted engraving, but things engraved wouldn't touch them due to the texture of the damasks) Anyone else have any other ideas. Id be open to suggestions. Even if its to help me change the J to F, Id love some clever ideas. Thanks in advance and here is some pictures to accompany the post
