Here is a Damascus survival Bowie I am working on for a customer. It is 13" OAL with bottle opener etc.. And will have red/black lava flow Kirinite scales with stainless steel bolsters and pommel.
Thanks Rob, I fileworked it today and heat treated. It's in for tempering now...lol! Gotta get back to the show knives
Looking good bud. The only thing that would worry me is the notches being a possible weak point if it's Batoned very heavily but with them being nicely rounded like that it may never be an issue. Hell I have Batoned with my folding benchmade griptillian
Thanks Grayzer, the customer wanted all the little extras in it, I am not particularly a fan of it, but it is actually a copy of another makers knife as far as the design goes although the original was a hidden tang.
The finished product minus the sharpening! Not the greatest pics as I took them with my IPad but you'll get the jist...lol!!!
Very nice! I like it. the kirinite looks cool. I have some similar that I bought to try making my first pen..... one of these days.
Thanks J, I had my doubts how the scales would look so I added the stainless bolsters and pommel to accent them rather than have the scales take over the look. I am much happier with this look as well.
