    Looks great! That damascus has a metallic curly maple sort of thing going on... Very interesting..

    Sort of related note.

    That looks like a pretty deep etch. Would you worry about long term longevity if it was actually used as a kitchen knife?

    I found that a little deeper has some benefits. Less friction while cutting and easier for the owner to restore. This knife will actually be used in the kitchen by a chef in Virginia.
