a work friends gave me a piece of A2 and asked me to make him a striking knife, he also gave me a nice big chunk of red mahogany for my time, so anyways i fiddled with ideas and came up with this. A2 steel at around 59-60 HRC (thats a wild guess from scratch test with different knives) pau ferro scales with brass pins i tried to keep it minimalist and functional but classy at the same time.
Looks good! My only critique is more of a personal preference, but I like my striking knives to have a bit of a longer blade for getting in a bit easier for marking DT's, but no doubt it will work well I am sure!
yeah , i never even seen one of those until i had to make one for someone lol, the blade tip is about 1 1/4 -1 1/2 inch from the end of the scales, it just felt natural in my hand so that what i went for. i do appreciate the criticism, its something i will consider for the next one i make.
Had to look it up, all this time I have been using an X-acto knife. the shame of it all now I have to class up the shop some.
