    Custom Chef Knife Roll.
Knives are handmade in New Brunswick / Nouveau-Brunswick by Rick Poirier (www.ripcustomknives.com)
Roll is made from Italian vegetable tanned leather. Handle and straps are constructed from antique chocolate water buffalo leather.
Polished aluminum bar is used to provide handle and strap support. Antique brass buckles.
Everything is held together with 63 hand hammered copper rivets.

Looks like a rugged and lifetime lasting case. I hope my son-in-law the chef doesn't see it any time soon or I will be put to another task. Really like the use of the rivets for the dividers in lieu of stitching.

That's a beaut. I think i may need to try something along those lines for my carving knives (only in smaller scale, I suppose).

I was thinking of something like this for outdoors man. A roll for holding the knives with sheaths, for hunting knife, skinner or ULU , bird & trout and fillet knife all with matching handles and sheaths

If you ever try one out of Veg Tan leather this is an interesting bit of tooling to add

A roll in a lighter outdoor fabric perhaps. The leather wraps are heavy. This kit weight just under 6 lbs with the knives.

No natural veg tan yet. This is the first one I have ever done. Now if someone come along with enough money, I will decorate it any way they like :)

You just reminded me of a canvas bag I had loooong time ago. Carried the essentials like cheese cloth, knives and other stuff.
I might have to make something like it just for fun

I was thinking of doing something along the lines of what Dico said, using mesh material in the hoops rather than metal. With the plastic piece supplied by LGM cut down to fit between the hoops.

As I want to leather the hoops I need to think of a way of fixing the mesh.

Dico did you say you have the mesh already? Where from?

    Elanlover keep the pictures coming.
