Or a case of the lady asked for flowers in the handle, those plastic things from the craft store and well I just could not stand doing that and suggested a flower carved out of copper.

Figure that would look much nicer and add weight at the back of the scimitar blade where it is needed. Maybe next time I may keep quite this is certainly not beginner level stuff :roflmao

Going slow and keeping fingers crossed

Scimitar blade? Can't wait to see it. Those are my favorite swords. Love the curviness of the blades.... going to leave it at that <blush>

A general overall shot of the parts in play.
Will be making a couple of chisels for carving out of T1 steel so I can put some fine lines in the flower.

Not shown is the yellow liner I will be using and it will have a flower arrangement carved in it and should be just visible through the translucent handle

dude, that's boss. i have to admit i was thinking full on Sinbad scimitar sword but, i really love that style of knife. It's the organic curves in it i think. The only reason I think that is because i am equally "not drawn" (undrawn, redrawn, withdrawn?) from the straight blockiness of a tanto blade. For me it's gotta be curvy or round. Persian fighters or elven swords and daggers from LOTR. I really liked Drax's knives from gaurdians of the galaxy too. (sorry i forgot to sound the nerd content alert before posting that stuff )

also, i love how your bench is littered with knives you haven't finished yet "oh, i'll just set that there until i can back to it". I dream of the day that i can put out that kind of production. So many ideas but so freakin' slow right now. It is a bit frustrating.

More lack of production some days, made four knives for a draw because I could not nail down one idea:whistling
Likely going to be a his and hers pair of knives since most guys in the jeep club have a significant other.

The scimitar is normally not included in chef knife sets but is sold separately for professional use (butchers) Actually had to do some research and find out what they are. In the end this is going to be full on girly from end to end, also have a chef knife and fillet knife in the same theme for her personal kitchen.

Nerd Alert above :roflmao , no swords in the kitchen cows come disassembled for the most part

well this is far more tedious than I imagined but getting down to the fine details. The top scale has a flower thing going on so I am going to gouge it out and put the copper carving there.
Still figuring out how or what kind of flowers will be on the yellow liner, had thought of a color print of a field of Daisy or simply etching.
Added some gold leaf to brighten up the flower part and may still put in little specks of color

Well crap I forgot to take a finished picture. Talked with customer last week and she loves the knife and her mother was drooling over it.
