Finally got a chance to try one of these.
Heavy 8-9 oz (1/8" +) thick water buffalo leather with a detachable pouch for a 2.5"x1.75"x5/8" tin can (included) and ferro rod loop.
Reconfigurable carry for scout, left or right cross draw by removing and reinstalling two screws.

oil20. Sorry I missed your post.
Water Buffalo is hard to come by in Canada. The stuff I use comes from Weaver comes from Weaver Leather Supply in the US but I buy it from my local leather dealer here in New Brunswick (Atlantic Leather). I Alberta you might try Longview Leather, OA Leather Supply or Buckskin Leather.

There is a Bison Ranch in BC and the distributor for Bison Leather and hides.

If you want to search for more places change up from "Bison leather for sale in Canada" to "Bison Hides for sale in Canada"

    http://www.xhbuffaloranch.com/buffalo-hides.html

Hold off on buying any bison leather, this time my search led me to the US and Canadian Wholesale site for Bison and other leather or hides.

Sending the email to get a wholesale account set up right away.

I found a Canadian manufacturer and supplier for the small tins but minimum order is around 100, and I get the ferro rods in bulk.

right now I have small ones 3/16" x 3" but will bring in what ever size others prefer.

For snake skin I can get at a decent price, and buffalo leather runs between $7.50 to $9.00 per square foot. Complete hides only and no markup.

Note that is is water buffalo not bison. Two different things.
The water buffalo I use is vegtan 8-9oz an you can burnish edges really nicely. Not sure if bison is available that thick or in vegtan.

As for tins you can go here and buy 1 or as many as you like: https://wellscan.ca/product-category/specialty-tins/seamless-tins/hinged-tins/?v=3e8d115eb4b3 minimum shipping fee is 16.00.

Or do what I did and got to Mark's Work Warehouse and buy a tin of mints for 3.00 (small tin) or Shopper's Drug Mart and buy a tin of Altoid mints (larger tin).
